Sumptuous, baroque gowns stole the show at the Christian Dior, Spring/Summer 2011 Couture Show. Though some not as extravagant as others, each dress had its own unique design and detail, not to mention being to the taste of Anna Dello Russo. Whether it was the velvety pleats folded to reveal two-toned fabrics or ruched shoulders in burnished silver, each creation exuded the classic, structured splendour you would expect from a genius such as John Galliano. The models themselves are also worth surveying, their statuesque stance and strut add an extra ‘oomph’ to an already spectacular extravaganza. On another note, the one thing CD always seems to have is an aura of Golden Age glamour, which, will never be out of style.
